Guest House Tisza Ház

The old lady was very nice, but clearly overwhelmed. The bed linen was clean, though that was about the only good point. This place shouldn't be rented out in its current condition. It feels like making money matters more than investing in the property, and anyone who stays here probably won't return. It's not worth a penny. Find somewhere else, even if it's five euros more, you'll be better off. This isn't retro style, it's a house badly in need of renovation. The furniture is old and broken, the carpets are tattered, and the furniture looks like it's been glued in place since 1905. There are cracks and flaking plaster despite the patches on the walls. Spiders and mosquitoes come as free pets, and the paint is peeling from the very old windows. The bathroom is a disaster. The corner shower is too cramped for anyone with a bit of a belly, and its plastic doors hang on screws instead of rollers. They don't work properly, and one snag could wreck the whole thing. There were also old, nearly empty creams, open toothpaste tubes, used sponges, and similar things lying around. I'd post photos if I could, but unfortunately that's not possible here.

The host was friendly, and the room had plenty of space with a new mattress. The accommodation itself is modest. The yard was neglected, and the bathroom could use improvement.

We managed for an overnight stay, but the place was only adequate. The room feels like it's from the 80s, and the water tastes like blood. As is typical around here, the guesthouse is listed at the wrong spot on Google, hard to find from outside, impossible to reach by phone, and very poorly organized. An elderly woman answered the door and spoke only Serbian, very fluently. She didn't know we were coming, but she did get our room ready.

The hosts were so friendly and made the place feel homely. It's close to the center, and there's parking if you're arriving by car. We'd happily choose them again :)
