The room had a wide bed, TV and fridge, and both it and the bathroom were spacious. There was free parking, and the hotel is close to cafes. Staff speak several languages, including at least English and German, though not everyone speaks English, so it depends who you get. Breakfast included tomatoes and cucumbers, scrambled eggs, cereal, milk and Turkish pastries, but the choice felt limited. The eggs were cold, as if cooked hours earlier, even though we arrived an hour after breakfast began. There was tea but no coffee. The room blankets were small and not suitable for tall people.

We ended up here by chance at midnight because the road ahead near the city was missing. For 35€ the hotel was very nice, with comfortable beds and a clean, pleasant bathroom. Breakfast was Balkan style, with fresh cheese and local bread. The one surprise was no coffee at breakfast, which was a first for me, so I took off a star.

Last year the meal here was decent, but this year it was really awful. The portions were small and the meat had no taste, while prices were on a par with restaurants in Belgrade. I won’t be adding this place to my lunch options again.

Hotel Lane is a small hotel in Sjenica with clean rooms and bathrooms, and the staff are very kind. During the winter, when it was -20°C outside, you could park your car in the garage. I loved it.
