TESLA Residence Subotica

Free parking was a nice bonus, and we could walk to all the main sights around Subotica. The staff welcomed us warmly and reached out ahead of time to make check-in easy. Our apartment had two roomy bedrooms, a large living area, and a kitchen equipped for a holiday stay. The smart features really stood out: we could control the lighting, temperature, curtains, and doors electronically. This was our first hotel after entering Serbia, and TESLA Residence Subotica impressed us more than any smart hotel we’ve seen in Canada. We’d strongly recommend it.

The apartment was roomy, with new furniture and useful basics like a hairdryer, kettle, and cutlery. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the train station. I paid €50 for one night, and access to the spa costs another €15 for 90 minutes. The check-in time is 3:00 PM, while checkout is before 11:00 AM, not right at 11. At 10 I went to a store, leaving my things in the room so I could collect them at 11. Then hotel staff messaged me to say they had entered the room and asked why my belongings were still there. There doesn’t seem to be a clear way to tell whether a guest has checked out. That experience cost the review a star.

The bed was really comfortable, and the shower was good. My modern, clean apartment was spacious and had a nice balcony facing the courtyard. I didn't try the cooking setup, but it all looked brand new.

I spent five nights at Tesla Residence and felt welcome and relaxed throughout. Henrietta and her husband especially helped make that happen. The place is comfortable and conveniently located not far from the center. The staff were friendly and responsive, getting me what I asked for on time. When my safe had a problem and the balcony door wouldn't close properly, both issues were fixed quickly. Highly recommended!
