Mövenpick Resort and Spa Fruske Terme

We were a family of five, staying in bungalow or cottage houses next to the hotel but within the same venue. There’s a great location, lots of child-safe green space, and walking paths leading up to Vrdnicka Kula. Who needs great Wi-Fi? The drawback was being outside the hotel and having to walk 150-200 meters from the main hotel area with the kids, especially with the girls and their wet hair. Otherwise, our stay was just fine. Food and drinks at the hotel restaurants and shops cost about as much as a meal or drink in Belgrade, more than in other Serbian cities.

The pools are genuinely nice, and the thermal baths are decent. Food was the main disappointment: there were a few good dishes, but most of it was plain, with portions that felt oversized. At the in-house restaurants, especially Orchidea, I’d expected more intricate touches or creative ideas to match the name. Piazza was a small bright spot, though still only a modest B+.

The hotel is set in a peaceful natural area, around a 30-45 minute drive from Belgrade, Novi Sad, and Tesla International airport. It’s a large property, so weekends and major holidays can get overcrowded, and some facilities aren’t sized for the extra demand. Aside from that, it’s well run and recently refurbished to Accor standards for its brand and level. I’ve stayed a couple of times as both an Accor Gold and Platinum member, and my status was recognized and the benefits applied. Service was very good all the way through. Kids love it here, with playrooms in different parts of the hotel, a children’s section in the water world, and buffet dinners that are a kids’ paradise. Connecting family rooms offer a good balance of shared space and privacy, and they’re spacious and well equipped. With children, I’d recommend half board with buffet dinner. Adults have plenty to do too, including the extensive sound world and adults-only areas. It’s a well managed family getaway in a perfect location. I’d recommend the hotel and will return with my family.

A beautiful spa and lovely rooms, plus breakfast that was both tasty and varied. It’s one of the best places near Novi Sad for a short, relaxing break, and pairs perfectly with a hike in Fruška Gora.
