The room was spacious and clean, the food was good, and it was easy to get to major areas from here. Jean Pierre, Emmanuel, Caesar and another staff member welcomed me warmly, shared information about Rwanda and made sure I was happy as a first-time visitor from Malaysia. They took such good care of me that I stayed an extra night.

I’ve stayed at StepTown on both the way into and out of Kigali, and I’d choose it again. The meals were excellent, and the rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. All the staff were friendly and professional. Downtown Kigali is a 10-minute walk away, and the Memorial is a 30-minute walk. There’s secure parking, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the facility, 24/7. I’ll definitely stay here again.

What made the stay memorable was being treated like family, along with the welcoming staff, clean rooms and breathtaking views. For this price range, I care about having a clean room, a good bed, a shower with hot and cold water that works, decent food and drinks, and a central location. Step Town Hotel had all of that. The motel was comfortable and very clean, and our room, number 12, had the best view of Kigali. The internet was fast and unlimited, which was another good reason to choose Step Town. John is the best manager I’ve ever seen! I also loved the food. The chef was fantastic and taught us how to make African tea. His fish brochette and African tea were the best.

We spent over a week at Step Town in our overlanding camper van. The friendly staff helped us with all kinds of requests and needs, and we had several great meals. It was a great base for exploring Kigali. Thanks for an amazing stay!
