Rwanda is such a beautiful country, and the people are kind. The resort looks over a beautiful lake. Some of the rooms are up a pretty steep path, but it’s worth it.

A relaxing day with friends at Kivu Lodge, with a lovely pool and a delicious lunch. The views of Lake Kivu are captivating, and the whole getaway in Rwanda’s natural setting was unforgettable. Highly recommend it for a peaceful escape.

The view is gorgeous, but getting there was a nightmare. The sign says 8km, yet after an hour on a terrible rocky road with poor signage and broken bridges, we got stuck and even thought the place might be closed because so few people pass that way. Then we found out a night costs 200$, so we had to turn back. It seems accessible only by water or helicopter, and they’re definitely not ready for walk-in customers.

The pool is the best part, with views of the hills and the surrounding atmosphere. Once you arrive, it feels like an out-of-this-world experience, and it’s one of the best romantic places I’ve seen in Africa. There’s no road access, so you have to come by helicopter or boat. A must-visit if you’re planning a trip near Rwanda or Uganda.
