The lodge’s setting is lovely, with flowers and thick greenery all around, and it feels peaceful and close to nature. It’s also well placed for the unforgettable gorilla trek nearby. The rooms are cozy and well kept, and the spa was a relaxing place to wind down after a long day. Food was good too, with consistently comforting meals and a chef who clearly cares about what he serves. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. The staff and management were professional, attentive, and clearly put real care into guests’ experience. I’d have liked more activities at the lodge itself, and a small kids’ area could be useful for families when adults head out hiking. Still, it was an amazing stay, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Rwanda for gorilla trekking and time in nature. 🌿🦍

The room was so comfortable, and both the food and service were amazing. I stayed for two nights, from 16-18 February, on my first trip to Rwanda for gorilla trekking. The staff were incredible. I’d love to come back 😍 Love, love, love.

The Virunga Suite was stunning, and the service made this second visit to Gorilla’s Nest another memorable one. Everyone seemed to anticipate what we needed. Musa looked after us with such attentive, polished service, and Barbara from Guest Experience was warm and happy to answer all our questions. Etienne’s gin tasting was a highlight. The property also arranged a performance by Esther, an incredibly talented singer, which made a lovely end to the visit. The facilities and service are hard to match. Highly recommended.

The meals were perfectly suited to what the property offers, and you can taste Africa’s abundance in them. Glorious food. The landscape is amazing, the country is beautiful, and the staff make you feel fit for a king.

The people here made the biggest impression on me. The staff work together to keep everything running smoothly and go out of their way to meet every possible need. I enjoyed talking with them. So many seemed to truly value connecting, even in those small moments when it was just two people sharing a little of life. I felt lucky to have those conversations. One&Only Gorilla’s Nest, outside Kinigi, Rwanda, is a stunning hotel with an extraordinary atmosphere and a look I won’t forget. The experience was one I’ll always remember. If you get the chance to visit Rwanda, make a stop here.
