Mantis EPIC Hotel & Suites

The facilities alone make this a great place to be: there’s a gym, sauna, pool, tennis court and basketball court. The food was great at breakfast, lunch and dinner, and room service was perfect. Staff were friendly, service was very good, and the rooms were okay. Oliver is the best, keep it up, brother! If you’re heading out of Kigali, you’ve got to find Epic hotel. It’s the best hotel I’ve seen outside Kigali, and could compete with some of the top hotels in the city. I’d put it among Rwanda’s top 10.

The setting was a lovely part of our retreat. Epic Hotel sits among lush greenery, and the peaceful atmosphere, birdsong and soft morning mist made it feel like a real escape from the bustle. The group also enjoyed early bike rides, scenic hikes and evening yoga, all arranged through the hotel. These activities were a welcome wellness and recreation element, and there were more leisure and sports options than I remembered from my visit a few years earlier. I organized a two-day strategic retreat in Q4 of 2024 for about 70 people, and it went beyond what we expected. The on-ground team was helpful and hospitable from beginning to end. Mr. Chance, the F&B Manager, deserves a special mention for going above and beyond to keep things running smoothly. The team was flexible with menus and handled our group’s varied dietary needs easily. After two intensive workdays, they put on a great evening celebration with a BBQ dinner, karaoke and a live band. Some food and drinks weren’t always readily available because of the hotel’s upcountry location, but Chance kept us informed and adjusted professionally. Email responsiveness from the front office could be more proactive. Even so, the group’s feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we had a fantastic experience. Epic Hotel lived up to its name, thanks for all the hard work.

Customer care and service at this hotel are excellent.

I stayed here for a long time. The staff are really friendly, and the rooms stayed clean. My room was spacious, with good air conditioning, and there was hot water in the shower all day. The hotel facilities are good too. Food was good, served to the table when ordered or as a buffet when it was busier. There was a wide range of dishes, so anyone could find something they liked, including western visitors.
