Jojo and Sandra were welcoming, sweet, and fun to chat with. They helped organize whatever we needed and made delicious tea and breakfasts. Our room was spacious and clean, with a hot shower. Volcano View is also well placed, within walking distance of the town center and some great restaurants and cafes. We’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re in Musanze and heading to Volcanoes National Park :)

We had a great stay. The staff were super friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was amazing. Our motorcycles were safe too. Highly recommended!

The location was great and the service was nice, but the room wasn’t clean. When I arrived around 8 p.m., there were backpacks already in the room and worn hotel slippers. At bedtime I noticed hairs on the soap bar in the shower tray and more hair on the shower floor. It made me wonder if the room had been cleaned after the previous guest. The blanket or duvet smelled awful, like stinky socks. I tried to reach the receptionist, but it was around 10 p.m. and she had left. The lounge was dark and all the doors were locked. I barely slept, thinking about lying in a bed where the linens might not have been changed. I booked another hotel straight away and checked out in the morning. When I complained, the receptionist was very sorry, but said the smell came from not having enough sun to dry the bedding during rainy season. I’m not sure that explains it, since the next place managed to dry everything properly without sun and I had no similar issue there. The owner was helpful and resourceful, and can arrange transport for all kinds of activities at the national park. The price wasn’t the cheapest, though. I booked through my second hotel and got it for less.

Jorjo and her team made our group of four adults and six children feel right at home while we travelled through Rwanda. Her connections and suggestions came in handy as we used her house as a base for trips to the twin lakes, the golden monkey hike, and the Bisoke hike. It was very rainy during our stay, so having our shoes cleaned after hikes was fantastic. We had a lovely home-cooked dinner there one night for $15 per person. The kids enjoyed playing basketball and spending time with Carice and the dog. We’d recommend staying at Volcano View!

A peaceful place to stay. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Rwanda.
