Dereva Hotel Rwamagana Ltd

The rooms were kept beautifully and felt comfortable, with everything arranged to make it easy to relax. I felt at home there. Service was lovely from the minute I arrived, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and always smiling when they helped. I had a truly wonderful stay at Dereva Hotel and would definitely return.

That larger room on our second night back in Rwanda felt like it belonged to a different hotel, it was incredible. The first night, on our way to Burundi with Antique Safari Adventures, we were given an older room and didn't enjoy it. Check the rooms before settling in, and if you're a foreigner, ask for a fan when you check in. They'll bring one to your room.

I come here for work every year and really enjoy staying at Dereva Hotel. The food is nice, the service is good, and it's a quiet spot to unwind.

The pool was a lovely place to spend time, with a sun terrace, tables, chairs, and loungers. A lifeguard was on duty, staff took food and drink orders, and mature palm trees shaded the area through the day. Our group of 16 had a good breakfast buffet each morning, with several options, fresh juices, and coffee. Dinner was varied and delicious too. We used The Dereva as our base for a two day safari at Akagera, and it worked out wonderfully. The hotel sits on large grounds within two walled compounds, so it felt secure. The staff welcomed us warmly and insisted on carrying our bags. Our rooms were spacious, had plenty of storage, and came with clean, well equipped bathrooms and showers. I'd recommend it to anyone spending time at Akagera, as it's ideally situated.
