Coral Al Ahsa Hotel

The deluxe room is spacious and quite nice, and the service has been good. Breakfast was disappointing, though. There was no fresh juice or coffee, just sugary drinks and Nescafe. When I asked for fresh juice and coffee, I was told those were only available through room service. I shouldn’t have paid extra to include breakfast.

The rooms were clean, if a little dated, and check-in was prompt and polite. But at 1:25 am I was lying awake because of piano music in the hallway. I called the front desk to ask them to turn it off, but nothing changed. Also, the parking attendant wasn’t at the gate. I drove around the building and found him wandering in front of the hotel on his phone. He went to open the gate once I asked.

The night reception was excellent, and the Filipino restaurant staff were excellent too. The day staff, though, weren’t professional and didn’t follow customer care guidelines. I got KFC for my kids, and they stopped me, said deliveries weren’t allowed, and made me speak to their manager without first asking if I was staying at the hotel. When the manager realized I was a guest, he had nothing more to say. Ask first before treating someone badly, and train the staff in basic manners toward people.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. The showers could use a bit more regular maintenance, and it would help if they provided adapters since the wall sockets are quite outdated.
