Al-Nimran Hotel

The service staff were kind and friendly, though they need training and better scheduling. The room service person seemed to handle breakfast, lunch, dinner, and other orders, and must have been working more than 16 hours a day. That isn't right. The rest of the hotel felt below the standard for a 2-star place. Wi-Fi was useless, the kitchen staff seemed unqualified, and the menu had very few choices. The interiors were poor, the building and bathrooms were old, and the bathrooms weren't very clean. Smoking wasn't restricted to separate rooms, so air conditioning carried smoke from one room to others. Breakfast and lunch buffets were tiny and didn't feel like proper buffets. Those problems might be acceptable in a no-star hotel, but this one is rated 2 stars.

The price is affordable for just about anyone, and you get what you pay for. The guest parking area is a real plus. I also found the rooms better than those at more expensive hotels in the same category.

The reception staff, especially the Saudi staff member, weren't polite or helpful. I was told I’d get what I paid for, and the rooms were in poor shape: the first one was dirty and its door wouldn't stay shut, so we had to move. In the second room, the bathroom knob was broken and I got stuck inside for an hour. I asked the helper to report it, but nobody came to fix it.

It’s in a nice spot near Al Khobar’s tourist destinations, and the Wi-Fi was the fastest of the hotels we checked in to. The service was good too, especially at reception with Mr. Islam.
