Aloft by Marriott Dhahran

Value for money is 10/10. I've stayed at three other five-star hotels in Khobar, and Aloft is the one I'd choose. It's a four-star hotel with five-star service and facilities, and I highly recommend it for visits to Khobar. We were there for eight nights. The modern, stylish hotel has two underground parking areas, and the ground floor has a restaurant, cafe, billiards table, PS5, and a grab-and-go area with snacks, salads, and sandwiches. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Housekeeping were friendly and helpful, especially the whole team on the 9th floor. The washroom had a toothbrush, mouthwash, and other amenities, which I'd usually expect at a five-star hotel. Thanks to GM Mr Alper and Mr Imran for helping with the reservation, and to Ukas and Gorbender as well.

The room layout and quality gave me plenty of space and comfort, beyond what I expected. Check-in was quick and the staff were professional. I liked the hotel's modern atmosphere, which feels different from others in the city. The lobby billiards table is a nice place to unwind. A solid four-star experience.

I've stayed here more than 20 times, alone and to visit friends, so these points come from all those visits. The location and bed are good. But it's poor value for money, service is extremely slow, and there's a very noticeable, distinct smell in the room. The walls are thin, with no soundproofing, so street noise comes through even on upper floors. The TV is small, around 40 inches, and can't cast from Android or iOS. I've tried calling several times, both before and during stays, and nobody answers.

We were thinking of arranging an Iftar for about 30 people at this hotel, so I contacted them to ask about group or corporate packages. The manager, Mr. Farooq Ali, answered in a rude and disrespectful way and showed no interest in helping or explaining the options. That was especially disappointing during Ramadan, when you would hope for some basic courtesy. After that conversation, we decided not to book. Good manners matter when dealing with potential customers, particularly for a large group reservation. I wouldn't recommend this place to families, friends, or colleagues planning a group event. I hope management takes the feedback seriously and improves its customer service.
