Radisson Blu Resort, Al Khobar Half Moon Bay

There were insects in the room, including a huge gecko/lizard, which was completely unacceptable for a hotel at this level. The smell was bad in many areas, and the cleanliness was extremely poor. The bed felt uncomfortable and unclean. The beach was dirty and had far too few chairs. At the pool, the water was dirty, freezing cold with no heater, and full of insects. Towels were almost never available at the beach or pool, and staff said there was a shortage. The fitness area was dirty and neglected. The gym equipment was extremely old and poorly maintained, with some treadmills missing covers or parts and looking unsafe. The sauna and steam room weren't working. The food smelled bad, tasted like leftovers, and was disappointing. Internet kept cutting out, and calling reception got me no real help. My stay at Radisson Blu Al Khobar was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The room and beach area were clean, and the staff were friendly and approachable. They let us check in early without an extra charge. The facilities are old, though. The hotel is 25 minutes from the city, but it's a great place to relax. I'd recommend it in Al khobar, and hope they add a few more food options to the menu.

The pool looked murky and gross, and the beach chairs and tables were broken and falling apart. There were so many mosquitoes outside that we couldn't sit there, and after dark the hotel felt deserted, with no activities or entertainment. The rooms were in terrible shape and clearly hadn't been maintained in years. We waited two hours at reception just to get our keys, while the staff were rude, uncaring, and completely unhelpful. They had plenty of kitchen kits, but that didn't make up for the rest. The stay was a total disaster from beginning to end.

There were basic things missing from the room, including water bottles, and even napkins weren’t enough. The whole stay felt badly managed and neglected, with hospitality falling below even the minimum standard. For a hotel rated five stars, the service was nowhere near what I expected. I wouldn’t recommend it.
