Al Azhar Hotel Jeddah

From Al-saket Family We stayed in room 505 at Azhar Hotel and had a wonderful time. Khalid at the front desk was especially welcoming, courteous, and helpful, with a really positive attitude and excellent customer service. His kindness and professionalism made a lasting impression. The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and professional, and the care they put into the details made the hospitality stand out from the moment we arrived. Our experience exceeded expectations, and we’re grateful for it. We look forward to coming back on our next visit to Jeddah.

Great location and reasonable value, but I’d rate this as three stars at best, not four. The hotel is old, with average rooms and staff, and it was reasonably clean. The WiFi was bad, the gym lousy, and the pool very small for such a big hotel. We didn’t eat there, since there are lots of good restaurant options a short Uber ride away.

The lake view at breakfast was pleasant, and being close to teamLab Jeddah was a definite plus and one of the main reasons I stayed. Breakfast had a variety of items, but the quality felt questionable, with a strong budget approach. Jeddah is expensive, so the price to performance was okay at best. I wouldn’t choose this hotel again unless location were my only priority. It seems aimed at a particular clientele, mainly budget pilgrims, many of them elderly and unfamiliar with the layout. I often ended up helping people find their way around the elevators and floors, something management should handle more efficiently. The hotel feels dated and chaotic, with large groups of pilgrims constantly moving around. The pool was dilapidated and uninviting. All rooms seemed to be smoking rooms regardless of preference, making the stay uncomfortable for non-smokers. Surprisingly, I encountered few cockroaches, which generally aren’t seen in smoking rooms. I wouldn’t recommend it for business or vacation stays.

The staff were friendly and ready to help, and the neighborhood felt quiet and safe in the evening. Parking was no problem either. It's a nice hotel with an open front, about a 15-minute walk from Al Balad.
