Blue Diamond Hotel

The Old Corniche is about 1km away, as I realised on my morning run. It’s fine for walking or running, but many people may have researched the New Corniche with its painted cycling track, so just an FYI. The staff are the reason I’d highly recommend staying here. Porter Mohammed Tajir, bilingual receptionist Alaa, and Duty Manager Mohamed all stood out for their hospitality. Housekeepers Razu, Akib and Mostoda helped make my stay comfortable, while Captain Sohel and Ahmed were excellent at the breakfast and all day restaurant. Everyone was well trained, helpful, and kept smiling through the day despite the long hours and industry struggles. Outstanding Saudi hospitality. Well done, guys, I’m proud of you all.

The hotel is family friendly and nicely done, with a good breakfast. It’s quite close to the old Corniche, the beach, and lively Palestine street.

I checked in at about 5:00 AM and left at 12:00 PM the same day, but was charged for a full extra day despite staying only 7 hours. I understand there may be early check-in policies, since normal check-in is after 12:00 or 2:00 PM. Still, a seven-hour stay shouldn’t reasonably count as a full day unless that charge was clearly explained before booking or at check-in, and it wasn’t. I’m asking the hotel to review this and consider refunding the extra day’s charge. I hope we can resolve it promptly and fairly.

The highlight of my 15-day stay was the health club. The attendant and masseuse were exceptional, clearly skilled, and gave me an incredibly relaxing, almost hypnotic massage. My room was spotless, and both breakfast and dinner buffets impressed me with their tasty variety. Deedar, the baggage attendant, was also very nice and attentive, always available when I needed something.
