Sheraton Jeddah Hotel - Saudi Brothers Commercial Company Branch

The shower and sleep were the two things I needed after a long day of flights, and I got neither. The shower stall was so tiny I could barely close its door. The waterfall shower gave only a few drops, while the regular one swung between boiling water and icy cold before settling at boiling hot. The AC roared like a jet engine, and I couldn't fall asleep. My room felt gloomy, cramped, old, and like a trip back in time. The bathroom was dark and unpleasant. I arrived hungry and tired at Iftar, but waited nearly 30 minutes for the staff to get the room ready, so I went out for dinner. When I returned that night, I found the room as described. I had already paid for two nights and still had one more sleepless night to endure, without a proper shower. I will never return. Until this hotel has a complete renovation, it should not be rated above three stars. How can this be called five-star?

The breakfast made for a memorable start to my day at Sheraton Jeddah Hotel. There was a wide range of fresh, well-prepared food, beautifully presented and suited to different tastes. The dining room was comfortable and relaxing, too. The staff welcomed me warmly and were courteous and attentive throughout. Our room went uncleaned for two days. We accepted the first day because it was still reasonably clean, but coming back to a dirty room the second day was unacceptable. We had left at 11:00 AM and taken down the “Do Not Disturb” sign. When we raised it at reception, they said we should have told them in advance. I've stayed in more than 100 hotels and never had that response. We also asked for drinking water to be brought up, but it never came. Breakfast prices weren't explained beforehand, which caused confusion. At 30 EUR per person, breakfast was extremely expensive, with very little variety and quality that didn't meet expectations. Reception staff were often unclear and unhelpful. When we asked questions, they tended to ask, “Are you happy with our services?” instead of offering solutions, and complaints weren't handled in a solution-oriented way. Honestly, the stay didn't feel like a five-star experience. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and improves things for future guests.

Nonno, the Barista, recommended the chicken shwarma at lunch, and it was absolutely delicious. The quality of the Thrive lunches is still as good as ever. I hadn't been in for a while, so it was nice to see Manager Beverly still at the hotel. Her attentiveness and infectious personality made me and the other guests feel special, just as before. She's a real asset. I highly recommend the Jeddah Sheraton and the Thrive cafe.
