Taj Celine Hotel

The rooms are tidy and comfortable, and the place is peaceful enough to relax without distractions. The staff are friendly. I had an excellent stay.

Saudi Airline sent us here after its flight was overbooked. We were at the check-in desk when they told us there were no seats left. I asked why they had overbooked and left people to suffer at the airport. They said airlines can overbook and that it's normal. There was no politeness and no apology.

The breakfast setup was frustrating: there's no breakfast room, and they bring a plate to the lobby. Even asking for water meant waiting another 20 minutes. The entrance doors also didn't open properly, and staff didn't seem interested in helping people get inside. The bigger problem was the air conditioner leaking liters of water overnight. Some of it froze into blocks of ice, and the water ran down near the TV and its electrical connections. I unplugged everything, turned off the AC, and used a towel to protect the room. The next morning I waited an hour in the lobby trying to speak to a manager, but nobody seemed interested or understood me. This is super risky. Imagine if the water reached the TV during the night. This is a ridiculous place, and I won't stay here again.

I was very disappointed with the hotel and with @saudia airlines for sending us to a place like this after a mistake on their side. The hotel is old, and the reception staff were unwelcoming. We had asked from the start for two double rooms, but at arrival they said only rooms with separate beds were available. There was no restaurant, and both lunch and dinner were white rice. They also told us to leave our luggage at reception because the porter wouldn't take it to the fifth floor. We carried the bags for four people ourselves, and had to climb stairs to reach the elevator. On checkout day, the elevator wasn't working, so we had to use another one on a different floor. We climbed stairs again with 12 suitcases, then took more stairs down to the ground floor. We were told to be at reception at 1:30 because we needed to reach the airport by 2:30. But the bus arrived late, at 2:07, and we didn't leave the hotel until 2:19.
