I felt disrespected as soon as I arrived at Rua International Hotel. When I asked the bell boy for help, he answered rudely, asking, “Why did you come now? It’s Iftar soon.” It made a basic request feel like an intrusion. I’ve stayed at over a dozen hotels in Madinah and hundreds around the world, and have never been treated this way. His manner left me feeling as if I’d interrupted his personal time, even though I was a paying guest. The check-in desk also insisted on a booking reference from my friend, who didn’t have it on his phone. I asked whether they could find the reservation using our names, but they said the reference was required. That makes me question their security process: if a reference number alone is enough to get into the hotel without proper verification, that seems like a serious flaw. The bell boy at reception showed no respect or manners. I find this kind of service intolerable, and it would warrant dismissal at a reputable hotel, especially in an international city like London. I can’t recommend Rua International Hotel. Please address what happened and train staff in customer service and professionalism. Guests should always be treated courteously and with respect. I expect a formal reply explaining these concerns and what steps will be taken to prevent this happening again.

The hotel is just two blocks from gate 338 of Masjid an-Nabawi, about a five-minute walk, which was very convenient during our stay in Madinah. Our room was small but neat and clean, and the bathroom was clean too. The hot shower didn’t work in our room, though; we were told other rooms didn’t have the same problem. There are four elevators, and they get crowded around prayer times. The food was quite good, but the restaurant itself felt cramped.

The rooms are ordinary, but the service is almost nonexistent. For what you pay for a three-star hotel, the room service feels like it belongs in a one-star place. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The location is good, though the hotel itself is basic and the service is poor. The cleaners were extremely rude. The rooms and bathrooms were dirty and moldy, and the carpets had heavy stains.

The rooms and service are both average, which is fine, but the food, wallahi brother, they cook it like it’s for animals.
