The beautiful flowers brought me joy every day, so a special thank you to Al Nakhla’s landscaping and gardening team for their hard work. I even used to pray for them each day. The residents came from all over the world and were lovely, and every department on the team was outstanding. Mrs. Evgenia, the General Manager, gave me constant support and showed boundless professionalism. She’s an exceptional leader. I spent months at Al Nakhla Residential Resort, surrounded by wonderful, highly professional people, and had truly beautiful days there. It’s more than a residential compound, it feels like paradise in the Middle East. I love you all so much, Al Nakhla and everyone there, and I’ll always cherish my time with you. God bless the whole Al- Nakhla’s family.

The grounds are always beautifully decorated, clean, and well maintained, and the landscaping is perfect. Everything else is truly excellent. The rules can feel a little too strict sometimes, though rules are rules, even when we don’t understand them. Thanks to the Maintenance Team for a great job, and to MJ for taking such good care of his guests. I appreciate the whole recreation team too. Maybe the compound could replace some jerseys and soccer balls.

The gardens, outdoor spaces, and communal areas are luxurious and very well kept. The houses are small and nothing special, especially considering the rent. I don’t live there, but I’ve been a guest several times. It’s a great compound if you set aside the overpriced rents.

The green areas and swimming pools are nice, but the rest of my experience at Al Nakhla Residential Resort has been extremely disappointing. I can’t understand how it’s still operating at this level. The old, worn furniture in the outdated apartments wasn’t replaced or upgraded during my five years there, which showed no consideration for long-term residents. Some apartments also have a strong, unpleasant canalization smell that feels concerning for health. It got so bad my kids couldn’t eat or drink from items exposed to that environment. The internal transport is slow, unreliable, and poorly coordinated, and you can wait forever. Support is even worse: they’re unavailable when needed, acknowledge issues but do nothing, and make follow-up feel like a dead end. They try to seem modern and “digitalized,” but the services are useless and disorganized. It’s also very stressful if you prefer walking to driving. One star only because zero isn’t an option.

We have a two-bedroom flat with only one assigned parking space. Since we have more than one vehicle, we tried to use an additional space in the residents-only parking area, which sits mostly empty in the evenings. Instead, in this heat I have to park outside the compound and walk 15 minutes each way to my car to get to work. We complained several times and were told we’d need to pay more on top of an already huge rent for a flat under 100 sqm. Maintenance has the same issue. We also had to pay to remove some large furniture, including a very heavy coffee table, which cost quite a chunk of money. Once we signed, that was it: we had to stay until the one-year lease ended, or they would charge us all the money owed through the end of the contract. Package delivery is another recurring frustration. Tonight, once again, an Amazon driver couldn’t deliver my order to the compound. Other compounds have security collect packages and bring them to residents’ homes. Here, despite all the staff around, nobody delivers them, and sometimes they don’t even take them from the driver to the main collection point. Many flats and villas are far from the main entrance. Security can also be rude, and they never find your package right away, though it suddenly turns up a day later. There are some positives: nice grounds, Starbucks, a good gym, direct access to Danube, and maybe the indoor pool, though it’s a bit outdated. But the pools are very cold, especially the main kids’ pool, which wasn’t usable for our children even in summer. Last weekend we had to leave because we were shivering despite it being 45 degrees. The rooms are small and outdated, the furniture is old, and the kitchen cupboards are cheap plastic that bends under ordinary plates. Water runs out after eight minutes in winter, the air conditioning is old, and maintenance of flats and villas is poor. The dressing wardrobe is smaller than a usual hanger, and there isn’t enough storage. Please note that they may try to sell you a flat and furniture that only exist in the pictures. The windows don’t feel safe for children, and when we asked for locks, they wanted to charge us. There are many more issues. I’d give the compound no stars if that were possible. It has far more drawbacks than benefits.
