This isn't a five-star hotel, but it earns a five-star rating as a basic place to stay. Finding a decent hotel in Riyadh is a nightmare, and international brands take advantage of the room shortage by charging inflated prices. I had to settle for a local brand in Al Narjis and didn't expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a decent, fairly new hotel with incredibly big rooms and suites. My one-bedroom suite was roomy, clean, and comfortable, and cost around 45% of the Holiday Inn's crappy standard room. I honestly could have stayed a week. I arrived at the airport at 10am after taking an earlier flight than planned. Even though the hotel was full, the staff went to great lengths to get a suite cleaned and handed me the keys by 11am. There was no extra charge or hassle, and the front desk accommodated my request without arrogance. I'll definitely stay here again.
