Marsal Park Hotel

My experience was the worst when it came to hospitality manners. The bathroom design is really inconvenient, and the rooms aren’t soundproof at all.

The location near the palm trees is the one thing I liked, though there are more comfortable places to stay. I really wouldn't recommend this hotel. We were an hour late checking out because of an appointment, but we'd warned them ahead and asked them to understand. We also said we could leave our bags if someone had a reservation, and they told us nobody did. Even so, staff were practically pushing us out and threatening a 400 fine. I thought it would be a small charge, but 400 is what a two-bedroom apartment costs. Even big hotels usually know how to handle this kind of thing with better customer service. I hope my comment stays up. The hotel is new, but the carpets in both rooms we used were filthy, like something from a bachelor pad. The bathrooms were a mess, and you basically had to stand up to do everything. At the sink, I had to twist my hand from side to side just to find enough room while performing ablution. And on the third floor, I was looking forward to sitting in the lounge area I saw the night before. In the morning I found the attendant brushing his teeth and spitting into the same sink he was cleaning and working at. We could hear him from the first floor as we went up. Disgusting.

The third-floor outdoor seating, with its view over Uthman Ibn Affan Street, was a lovely place to sit and reflect or meet someone. I also found the rates reasonable for work trips or a family stay. Everything was clean, from the pillows and bed to the exceptionally comfortable mattress. The staff, including management and guest services, were professional. The Saudi receptionist listened to my feedback with real respect. Many thanks to the management and guest service team for a truly wonderful experience. ❤️
