Au Cap Self Catering La Nature Apartments

The apartment photos were misleading, and Philomena, the owner, was rough and rude. From the main road it was a long walk, uphill and downhill, to a place that felt in the middle of nowhere. We arrived around 7 pm in the rain and couldn't go out for food. They charged us 300 Seychell's rupees for a sandwich and a small amount of chips. The next day we had to hire a car, and getting to the high road was extremely difficult. I felt she overcharged us for that too, but we had no choice. It seemed completely dishonest. After three days we had to ask for fresh towels. We had one shower towel each and no face towels. The lighting inside was very poor, including the one bedside light. The small floor towel got very dirty, and she wouldn't give us another. It was disgusting. The place was self-catering, but we didn't cook, just made coffee in the morning. At checkout, she took 50 euros from our deposit, claiming we'd broken a balcony chair. That was a lie. I think this woman is a crook, and I would never recommend her to anyone.

Philomena and her family were always there when we had questions or needed help, and they made us feel really valued. The food was delicious, and the fresh fruit from their garden was the best part of breakfast. My holiday in Philomena's apartment was amazing: the room was neat and very clean. I'd give her 20 stars if I could. Thanks for everything, see you next year 😊

Philomena was a friendly, helpful host. She picked us up at the airport and took us to the ferry to La Dique the next day. Her place was clean, neat, safe and secure, with a fair price. It's close enough to both the airport and ferry to work really well as an overnight stop when arriving in or leaving Seychelles, if you don't plan to spend more time in Mahe than necessary.

Mrs. Pillay was a very friendly and helpful owner, and I enjoyed spending two weeks in her well-equipped apartment. There was plenty of room for two people. As the name La Nature suggests, it's in a natural setting. You can walk to a minimarket in about 10 minutes, and the beach, a restaurant and the bus stop are each around 15 minutes away. I couldn't use public transport because of COVID. The last few metres up to the house are on a fairly steep hill, so older people or anyone not very fit should keep that in mind. I'd like to spend my next holiday there again.
