The Ridge Residence

We stayed here for our last night before heading home, and it ended our trip on a bitter note. The rooms are small and basic, though clean, and several basics were missing, including a hair dryer, smart TV, and beach towels. They did have a bidet. The rooms open onto the pool area, where other guests were making a lot of noise, so there wasn’t any privacy. The restaurant had reasonable prices, but the service was terrible. We asked if we could be served by the pool because I’d read online that they offered it. Staff said no, then 10 minutes later I saw them serving another group by the pool. I’d booked mainly for the view, but couldn’t enjoy it. It was the worst night of our trip, which was painful after all the other days in Seychelles had been mind blowing. The mushroom soup was really good, but everything else we tried was average.

The pool views made the location even more pleasant, and the staff were kind and incredibly helpful. We booked The Ridge Residence for two weeks so we could stay in one place. They kept it clean and made us feel comfortable and welcome. There was an issue with the rooms that a good paint job could fix, but they moved us straight away and gave us two complimentary nights for the inconvenience.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is small and fine, with good food at the restaurant and a little swimming pool. The main drawback was the large Catholic Church just below the property. Its public address system was loud enough to hear at the hotel for hours. I would recommend staying here and would come back.

We found The Ridge Residence to be good value for money, with a comfortable stay at an affordable price. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the location made it easy to get around and explore the area. Breakfast was simple but satisfying, with what you need to start the day and no unnecessary luxuries. We definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, affordable stay.
