Valmer Resort

The pool and the breakfast and dining area are especially lovely, and everything is kept in good shape. We also really enjoyed the food and the friendly, attentive staff. Valmer is well placed, with a great view over baie lazare. The beach is just a few minutes away and was quiet, while supermarkets and a really nice takeaway are only two minutes away. We stayed here during the second half of our Seychelles trip and had a great time. We'd happily come back.

The room was spacious and clean, and the staff were welcoming and quick to respond when we needed something. We loved the view, and the golf car was a nice extra. You can walk to a small restaurant, the beach, and a supermarket, though getting by is difficult if those places are closed and you don't have a car. The food was delicious and portions were generous. The one real problem was the air conditioning: it was too small for the room, which stayed hot as though it wasn't working. Everything else was perfect, and we enjoyed our stay.

You feel the tropical atmosphere as soon as you arrive. For a Seychelles vacation, this is the best hotel, in my view. Booking a room with an ocean view made the trip unforgettable. I highly recommend it!

The rooms were comfortable and roomy, and the daily cleaning was always done well. We only used the kitchen once, but it had the basics: a pot, frying pan, kettle, glasses, cups, plates (though no deep plate), cutlery, a cutting board, and a grater. The staff were friendly and clearly tried hard to make us comfortable, always ready to help and go the extra mile. The beach takes about five minutes to walk to. Coming back uphill was a bit of a workout, though we did once get lucky and catch an electric cart for the ride back. Breakfast was delicious. The buffet was mostly the same each day, with baked beans in tomato sauce, hash browns, ham, cheese, camembert, Nutella, yogurt, jams, pastries, bread, grilled tomatoes, sausages, bacon, boiled eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles, vegetables, and fruit. I thought the choice was great, and the food tasted amazing. We missed the themed dinner, but ate at the à la carte restaurant and liked that too. I don't really understand the complaints about prices: the island is expensive, and dinner for two at ANY restaurant is around 1000 SRS. We also tried four cocktails, both local rum-based and classic, and all were excellent. The spa was lovely as well. We had a couple's massage with kind, gentle, professional therapists, followed by a complimentary 30-minute jacuzzi session in a beautiful setting. It was really relaxing.
