There were three of us and we’d booked two cabins, but when we arrived there were no keys. We called First Camp, and they put us in a small one-room cabin with four beds. No bathroom, no access to toilets or showers, nothing. Terrible service.

Snowy trees around the frozen lake make for a lovely winter camping setting. The site looks roomy and private too, good if you want a quiet, secluded stay. There are shops in the nearby area.

It’s a campsite in the middle of town, which plenty of people seem to enjoy, but it wasn’t to my taste. There’s a nice lake close by, though the tall fence around the whole site, presumably for security because a public footpath runs around the lake, takes away from the feel of it. Other than the service buildings, pool and cabins, the camping area is basically a bare field with no divisions between pitches. It has more character in high season, naturally, when all the caravans are there.

The campsite is okay, but that’s about it. Camping guests have to pay for the pool, with no discount, and it’s pricey at 7 euros for an adult. The large playground is inside the pool area, so you have to pay to use that too. For what you get, I think the campsite is expensive.
