Knutes Hotell

This was meant to be a one-night booking, but I stayed for the rest of my trip. The place is isolated and picturesque, and so pretty it looks like a postcard. The rooms open onto a shared kitchen area, so be considerate and keep quiet at night. I didn't hear my neighbours, though I can't tell if the soundproofing was good or if they were quiet while I slept. The people were kind, lovely to talk to, and accommodating. Connie was fantastic, helping arrange my activities and just being a lovely person. Get in touch ahead of time about snow mobiles or dog sledding since they can book up quickly. There's no shop or restaurant in the hamlet, so bring food in advance, especially if you have dietary restrictions like I do, or be ready to drive to nearby towns. I had the delicious buffet on my last day, but book it in advance. I was based in the area and drove to nearby cities for day trips. There was a fair bit of driving, but it gave me the freedom to go places faster and cheaper than taking buses, which don't always run daily or take you straight where you want to go. I originally planned to stay in a city and take trips out to the countryside. I'm so glad I did it the other way around. Staying around Svansele alone would have been perfect too. I couldn't fault them.

Basic rooms, and the TV is much too small. There's nothing special here, but it could suit you if you want a "hotel" near nature and plan to spend your days outside exploring.

A really nice place, and I'll definitely come back. The sauna is a nice extra.

Knutes hotel is surrounded by nature, which makes it a very good choice for anyone who loves being outdoors.
