Svalsjöns Stugor Öland

The lake has a lovely smooth sandy bottom, with just a few stones here and there. The people were very, very nice, and the rooms even nicer. It’s worth booking the hot tub and sauna privately 🤩.

Service was okay, and there’s a good play area for children. It gets too dark at night, though, with no lights around.

Cabin 15 had everything we needed, and we were very happy with our stay. It’s a child-friendly place, quiet, and well located near Köpingsvik and Borgholm. You can avoid the crowds at the big campsites here. We’d love to come back for another holiday.

The cottages are in pretty good shape and the owner we met was very nice and helpful. He even fixed us a mosquito net and came by now and then to see how things were going. These are classic summer cottages in the middle of Öland, at a reasonable price. The location worked well for getting to both the north and south of Öland, as well as Färjestaden and Borgholm, in a reasonable amount of time. There’s a swimming area, though the water is rather murky. I didn’t swim much, but it was nice to have the option whenever we wanted. The view across the dam, with fields and wind turbines in the background, was especially nice. The walking paths of 1.1 km and 2.1 km are lovely for morning walks or runs. There are lots of flies in the evening when you get away from the cottages, but hardly any mosquitoes. Around the cottages there were very few mosquitoes and just the occasional fly, nothing major. You can also run or walk east to the Baltic Sea. The weather was good, with rain usually passing north or south of the area. We had just two short showers in a whole week.
