Hotell Iföhus

The breakfast was a standard Swedish hotel spread, not a huge selection but enough to get the day started. The room looked nice, but there was nowhere to put personal things, no shelves for toiletries or dresser for clothes, just a clothing tree. It seemed clean until we moved the sofa to switch on a light and found what looked like about 100 bunny families underneath. The floor lamp was no better. The toilet seat was broken, and with no staff around in the evening we waited until morning. Then it fell off completely, so we called the emergency number. Someone came in about ten minutes to replace it. The person who checked us in seemed to have had a few drinks, which didn’t feel professional when I was handing over my credit card. I assume he was the owner and thought it was fine. The elevator is old and I got stuck in it once, so avoid it. The carpeted hallways smell like they need a proper clean and could use renovation. For this location, the prices felt far too high, like Stockholm rates. I’d give the hotel somewhere between 3 and 4 stars.

We came for Sweden Rock Festival 2022 and had a great time at the bar with the staff, even though we slept through breakfast every morning. The rooms are small, but clean and tidy, with all the basics. I’d never stayed in Bromölla before. If we return for SRF, this will probably be our first choice.

What stood out most was how kind and welcoming everyone was. The renovated hotel and attached restaurant have a style I really like, with Nordic design inside, and the sound system in the restaurant, bar, and party area is great. Super nice place.

A quiet hotel that works well for business trips. Breakfast is good too.
