Sure Hotel by Best Western Vilsta Sporthotell

I booked five nights but left just 20 minutes after arriving. The room was in terrible shape, with mold in the bathroom, stained and dirty sheets, dust everywhere, and stained, very old mirrors. The smell inside was awful, and even entering the building you could smell that it was old and unclean. The stairs were some of the most dangerous I've seen, so watch your step. They charge 200kr for a pet, which I wouldn't mind if they actually cleaned the rooms. Atrocious. For your own health, don't stay here.

The river setting is stunning, with plenty of facilities nearby. We wanted to play bangolf, but it was meant to open at 10 and didn't open until 11, by which time we had other plans. We stayed for two nights while visiting family, so we put up with the basic hostel-style rooms. The stairs from reception to the first floor felt lethal, and the beds were really uncomfortable for us as a couple in our 50s. The rooms were small for two, and I can only imagine how they'd be with four. The bathroom was crusted with mildew, and we could smell the drains from the bedroom. We didn't find out about the WiFi or breakfast room until our last day. Really disappointing.

The breakfast was very nice, and the staff were friendly. The surroundings felt cozy too. The bed linen needs attention, though: it was dirty, had stains, and smelled of other people. The wheelchair ramp also needs updating. It's made of wood that's starting to weaken and deteriorate.

After a long day on the disc golf course or skiing, the rooms are enough for a shower and a night's sleep, though they're small and the bathroom is a bit old-fashioned. It's a cozy place in a lovely sports-focused area. Breakfast was more than OK, with bacon, pancakes, and good coffee. The staff were very kind and helpful.
