The owner was friendly, and the chef made delicious, hearty dishes. With its beautiful scenery and antique atmosphere, this is the best accommodation.

I’d recommend it for business, solo or family stays. The Old town and river make for a lovely location, and the hotel is charming and cosy, with a good bed and duvets, a very nice bathroom and excellent cleanliness. Breakfast had a nice range of choices, including home-baked buns. There’s also a room for making coffee or tea, and they offer glasses and cutlery if you bring your own food. The courtyard has roses. The staff were super nice and helpful: when my taxi didn’t arrive, they drove me to the station so I wouldn’t miss my train. Thanks!

The room looked cute, fresh and nicely decorated, but room no.1 turned out to be the worst one. At entrance level, its window faced the street, and we could hear people on the stairs and outside as if they were in the room. The noise was poorly insulated, and partygoers coming back at night woke me about five times. Then we both woke early when people headed downstairs for breakfast. Breakfast was underwhelming too, without bacon, sausage or scrambled eggs. The basic hotel breakfast was missing. We won't give this place a great review or come back.

The owners and staff are friendly and service minded, and the rooms are clean and well decorated. Other guests are generally quiet, or perhaps the rooms are very well insulated. Since moving away from Sweden, this is where I return every time I come back. There’s really nothing more I could wish for, which is why I keep coming back.

The breakfast was surprisingly good, but there were no serving utensils, so everyone had to touch the bread and other buffet items. There weren’t containers for jam or butter either, and when we asked for these common things, we got looks like we were aliens. It must be cultural. They don’t even accept Swedish crowns, the country’s official currency. And without booking.com, you pay about 30% more. No comment. I don’t understand the positive feedback. Maybe it’s a cultural thing and customers in Sweden are easier to satisfy. I stayed in a single room smaller than the so-called box hotels in Japan. A prison cell is more comfortable. The bathroom was okay, though. We had a bad feeling when booking, but we were tired and took it. I strongly suggest looking more carefully for somewhere else if you don’t want to end up in a prison cell.
