The location is amazing, and the site might be fine if you come with a caravan. Our bungalow, though, was a very disappointing experience. It cost 130 euros/night, which made its condition hard to accept. At 50 euro, I wouldn’t have complained about the old kitchen, but I still would have objected to the smell and cleanliness. The estate imposes massive fines if guests leave dirt, so it should hold itself to the same standard. At first the place smelled old and moldy, as if it hadn’t been cleaned since last year. It looked mostly clean, and after an afternoon with the windows open the smell eased, or maybe we just got used to it. The kitchen was okayish equipped but old. The blinds let in the light, a problem when sunrise is at 3.40AM, and the window frames were either old or dirty. The shared toilets were dirty and covered in cobwebs, and the showers were unspeakable. This needs major improvement. I’m sure we can find somewhere with a similar location and better value for money.

The cabins smell bad, and keeping the windows open all the time is the only way to clear it, which lets in lots of flies. There’s no bedroom ventilation, and by morning it feels hard to breathe. There’s no stove fan either. The fridge is old, heats up the whole kitchen, and freezes the cucumber. The campsite has no EV charging or recycling options, so all waste, including glass, goes in the same bin. The outdoor plastic table leaves blue stains.

There’s a nice atmosphere at this cozy campsite right by the sea. It has a relaxed beach bar and several playgrounds, both around the campsite and on the beach. Öland Roots is within walking distance. Facilities are okay, though the showers are shared.

We pitched a tent on one of the fairly decent non-electric sites. The place is pleasant, but the bushes and mosquitoes were our main annoyance. There are loads of activities, and we can see why families like the polished, family-friendly feel, though it was a bit much for us. The beach was stony, lined with seaweed, and sometimes full of algae.
