Hotell Hamnen

The room was clean, the beds comfy, and the balcony had a nice view. Breakfast is served at Skansen hotel, about a 5 minute walk away. It was easy to find parking in front of the hotel for the night, since the day visitors had left by early evening. The location is beautiful, and the beach and harbor were nice too.

The sea view from the balcony and the breakfast at the lovely hotel 5 minutes away were big pluses. Check-in was smooth, and a parking card for the car was waiting in the room, though there wasn’t any staff member directly available. The rooms seemed great at first, but they felt poorly maintained: the lights didn’t work, there were scratches on the wall, mold in the bathroom, and lots of spider webs on the balcony.

We may have expected too much, but this is a fairly basic hotel that feels worn out. There’s no phone in the rooms to call reception, and there isn’t a reception desk either, since guests are received at the bar. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned very well, and the room felt dusty. Reception staff blamed that on summer replacement staff. Some staff seemed young and not fully trained. The restaurant food was basic too, especially the buffet vegetables, and the chocolate dessert tasted more sugary than chocolatey. We did enjoy a really nice bottle of Italian red wine. Having to pay for the stay on arrival instead of at checkout felt odd and unprofessional.

The view was beautiful, and the room felt really cosy and nice. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
