Sudersand Resort

We'd happily come back to the beach camping area at Sudersand Resort and recommend it. Our pitch was generous in size and practically on the beach. During our stay it was quiet, and all the facilities were spotless and well maintained. With two small children, we especially appreciated the well equipped family shower and bathroom. The kitchen and dining area also helped when the weather turned bad. The main resort is about a five minute walk away and has plenty of fun-looking facilities, though many were closed late in the season, so I can't really comment on them. The receptionist was always incredibly helpful.

The employees were friendly and helpful. When I had trouble with my bike air pump, they helped me out. The cabins are a pleasant, peaceful place to stay, and the sandy beaches are within walking distance. There's plenty to do at the resort, like swimming in the pool, using the slack line, playing soccer or tennis, visiting the restaurant, or going to the playground. There's also a bike rental nearby. I really enjoyed my stay.

Really nice place. The beach is only 500m away, which is great when it's hot and sunny. You can also play tennis just outside the camping area. The court isn't part of the camping, but you can get tennis rackets at the nearest restaurant and have a game. 😀🎾

I've stayed here for a week every year for the past 12 years. It's extremely cheap, the staff are friendly, it's perfect for visiting with children, and if you like beaches, this is one of the top three in Sweden. That was my old five-star review, and it still describes a lot of what makes the place good. But I'm changing it to three stars because of a decision I learned about before this year's stay. I'm annoyed enough to write about it, though not so annoyed that I won't return. A small detail can really get under your skin when the stay means so much more overall. Residents used to have barbecues at their individual houses. Now there aren't any there, and you have to bring your meat to one of a few central barbecues, then carry it back. That means missing the last 30-60 minutes of conversation before dinner, when everyone is happy, the kids are chatting, and guests are sharing stories. You have to haul the meat, coal, and fire starter over, light the barbecue, wait for the coals to turn to ash, cook, and carry everything back. If the barbecue is occupied, you might have to wait too. I know barbecues wear out a lot, like many other things in a rental house. But I'd argue they're one of the things that add the most value, and I suspect lots of residents use them on many evenings. The more sensible option would have been to replace the cheap no-name barbecues shared between houses with one premium model per house, ideally a well-known brand with spare parts available. That would mean more work, but would add a lot to the enjoyment of the stay. Instead, management removed them and put in a few central ones. My original review was: “Friendly staff.
