Von Otterska Villan i Gränna

The apartment was nice, but the landlady had particular rules that weren’t mentioned in the hotel’s website policy. We were three colleagues on a business trip and booked an apartment with three bedrooms, each shown as having a double bed. The landlady asked us to sleep on only one side of each bed so she wouldn’t have as much to clean, though it turned out each was two single beds pushed together. It was hard to follow that request since you can’t sleep without moving around. The next morning, after we left, she called, annoyed, asking how many of us there really were because we’d moved all the beds on both sides. We believed we’d booked an apartment, as the booking.com information also said, but she seemed to treat it like a dorm room with three beds.

We had the downstairs room, which was large enough for the crib we brought, our bags, and still plenty of open floor space for play. The older daughter had her own room with a door, which she found very exciting. The kitchen was fresh and had everything we needed, and the patio was nice. The one drawback was the kitchen table, which kept sliding apart. That felt a bit scary with children sitting at it. There was lots of room in the entrance for bags, the stroller and the kids, so coming home tired, we could all walk straight in instead of having to squeeze in like Tetris. The bathroom and shower were spacious too, with enough room for a changing mat for the baby. We would have liked a curtain or door to close off the large bedroom. Still, it was a fantastic, tidy place, and we’ll definitely stay here again if we return to Gränna.
