The meals were a highlight for me. Dinner used local ingredients, tasted great, and was reasonably priced. Breakfast was carefully prepared with quality local products, one of the best we had on our trip. They also make their own apple juice, which was delicious. Sikfors Herrgård sits in a peaceful, lovely setting, with a fantastic view and a beautiful garden by the main building. We even saw a fox run across the garden one evening. The owner was warm and helpful, and took time to tailor hiking suggestions to both the weather and what we liked. Our spacious room was in a separate building. It had what we needed apart from a mini fridge, and felt practical and pleasant. During the heatwave it was warm, and the mosquitoes meant we weren't comfortable sleeping with the windows open. The beds weren't the most comfortable either. We felt well looked after here, and I'd recommend staying at Sikfors Herrgård.

We spent three days here, and leaving to continue our trip was hard. We'd gladly come back. The owners were so friendly and gave us great advice about what to see nearby, marking places on a map for us. Their local tips were better than Google. The dinner was excellent, and the rooms were spacious. I especially liked the chairs, they felt like being at home instead of the usual hotel furniture. One of the best hotels we've ever visited.

You need to reserve dinner the day before, without knowing what will be on the menu. We did, and all three courses were excellent Swedish food.

The view is beautiful, and the people running the place were lovely and welcoming. I was driving from stockholm and arrived on a Sunday, so they stayed up late waiting for me. They asked when I wanted breakfast, and it was ready when I came down.
