Quality Hotel Statt

We only stayed for about nine hours after getting stranded in Hudiksvall, but it was a really good experience. They allow late check-in if you let them know ahead of time. I booked by phone with a lovely woman, and breakfast was included in the price. The buffet was good, though I thought serving it from 6 to 9 was a little early to finish. I guess that’s because the restaurant opens for lunch later on. The building doesn’t look like much from outside, but inside it’s clean and fresh, with great facilities and rooms that are good value for the money. I’d definitely recommend it.

The rooftop bar’s food was great. I’d recommend the chicken with vegetables, it tasted fantastic. Compliments to the chef who was working that evening. The woman at reception was super friendly too.

We had dinner at the restaurant last Friday and loved both the food and the atmosphere. The staff were friendly, and the ingredients tasted fresh. Since I’ve been to Italy many times, I know Italian food well, and the dishes really impressed me. The bruschetta al pomodoro was delicious, as was the impepata di cozze. The gnocchi di mare was a surprise, the fresh pasta practically melted in my mouth. The porcini and truffle risotto was the standout, with an irresistible aroma and flavor and rice cooked just right. The salmon fillet was delicately prepared, and the beef fillet was rare, just how I like it. We finished with panna cotta and tiramisù, both made perfectly, like in Italy. The Quality Hotel Statt is in the center of town, and the building looks lovely, like a house in the British countryside. Highly recommended.

The breakfast was good, and the location is convenient in the center. Hassela and Järvsö ski centres are both about an hour’s drive away. My only complaint was that the walls seemed a little thin. If there are children in the next room, you might want to bring earplugs.
