A lovely, peaceful island where you can properly unwind for the weekend. It’s very close to Stockholm, and boats run often, so it’s an easy place to visit and a really beautiful one too.

The cottage was warm and comfortable, with a kitchen and amazing views across the sea and the other islands. We lit the fireplace, then went to the sauna and had a quick swim afterward. Getting there on the Waxholmbolaget boat was part of a fantastic stay on Idöborg island. Away from Stockholm’s noise and stress, it was easy to take walks, relax, and disconnect in the middle of nature. The staff were kind and helpful the whole time, and I’m very grateful to them.

We’ve been here twice now, and I hope we’ll come back many more times. The island feels like a peaceful little haven, with a small restaurant, a crackling fireplace, and a beautiful terrace. We also had the pleasure of meeting the island’s owner, a little gem. We enjoyed meeting him so much and are very grateful to him.

We were catered for during our three days here, though it’s also easy to cook for yourself and relax. We came in 2021 for a private celebration, rented the whole island, and stayed in Stuga Ateljen. The compact space was used really well, with a great modern bathroom, a fantastic kitchen with a dishwasher, and a terrace looking out over the water. It was a dream, and we had a fantastic stay. The café on the little beach has its own sauna, but it’s unfortunately way overpriced. Renting the paddle boats was also astronomical: 1,000 SEK for two boats for 1.5 hours.
