Home Hotel Packhuset

The food and hospitality made this stay especially enjoyable. There was afternoon tea with fresh baked items and coffee and tea, and the dinner buffet had two hot dishes, soup, and a generous salad bar. Breakfast also had an impressive range of choices. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout, which made the place feel welcoming. My room was charming and came with a private terrace overlooking the picturesque harbour. Waking up to that view was a delight. I had a fantastic stay at Clarion Collection Packhuset in Kalmar and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable, enjoyable visit to this charming coastal town.

The showers were so filthy that using them felt like a health risk, and cleanliness throughout the hotel was appalling. The whole place badly needs a complete refurbishment. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you don't mind the dirt.

A real plus is that dinner is included in the price at the collection hotels. It's just what you want when you arrive and don't feel like going out to eat. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything worked perfectly. They had set up a bed for the teenager, and the baby's crib worked just right. The atmosphere and surroundings make for a lovely weekend. It's an okay hotel.

The room was very cold during our autumn-to-winter stay, which was my one real complaint. Still, I'd recommend the hotel. The water views are lovely, and I imagine it must be a fantastic place to stay in summer. Service was good, with welcoming, friendly staff. The cozy theme carries into the rooms, including some really old wood details. Breakfast had everything you could ask for.
