We only stayed one night, but the marina view from outside and the walkable location made a great impression. The points of interest are about 15-20 minutes away on foot. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was tasty. Dinner had a nice range of dishes, mostly vegetables with some protein, and breakfast had more choice than we expected after coming through Denmark, where the selection had been poorer. The room and bathroom were lovely, with a good selection of toiletries. We'll come back someday. Best to the staff, especially Jens, who shared his pickled onion recipe.

The rooms are compact but practical, and the beds were comfortable despite appearances. Cleanliness was brilliant, and the showers had good pressure and plenty of hot water. I really enjoyed my first night, with a few more still ahead before Copenhagen. The food was excellent too, so compliments to the chef.

One of my worst travel experiences in years. Breakfast was okay, but dinner felt like food from a student camp, not a four-star hotel. It was the same throughout my four-day stay. They held up a paper saying I had to request room cleaning by 10 p.m. the night before. After paying for a hotel, am I meant to bring my own mop and ask where to put the trash? I asked for disposable slippers because the bathroom floor was cold and there was no mat, but they refused, saying management didn't want to provide them. There were flies everywhere. I was on the ground floor and even saw rats on the balcony. I showed the duty manager at reception, who calmly asked whether I wanted compensation. Why not clean up around the hotel? The night before leaving, I went to reception to settle what I still owed. At checkout the next day, I found I had already been checked out the previous day. That meant I could have woken up in the night or early morning to other tourists in my room, since it showed as available in their accommodation system.

The friendly, knowledgeable staff, spotless room and tasty breakfast made our stay at Clarion Hotel Carlscrona even better. We couldn't have asked for more and highly recommend it. Hope to return!
