The rooms were the one weak spot. Our cabin had quite a bit of dust, especially under the bed and on top of the bunk beds. Otherwise, no complaints. We enjoyed a full week in Lapland’s bitter cold, with temperatures at -30 degrees. Some activities changed because of the cold, which felt safer than risking frostbite. Dogsledding and snowmobiling were still cold, but it was great to see the staff and guides adapt. The Sami experience was wonderful, with a passionate and honest view of that way of life, and the dog team’s dedication was amazing to see. Everyone serving in the lodge was friendly and accommodating, and did their best to answer questions or help with our needs. Our flight was delayed, forcing us to stay two extra days, but the staff arranged more tours and activities to keep us occupied.

Our honeymoon became a familymoon when the kids came along. We booked through Nordic to Lapland and spent seven days at the Aurora mountain lodge. In such a remote place, it must be hard to keep everyone happy day after day, but the team helped us with smiles and made the whole experience even better. The activities were planned brilliantly. When a detail got mixed up with an activity or the restaurant, everyone jumped in and made sure we were comfortable. Thank you, and hopefully until next time!

The kennel beside the lodge is a real bonus. Every activity started right at the front door, so we didn’t need to drive anywhere first. The lodge itself has a relaxed feel, friendly staff and great food, making it a wonderful base for a Lapland holiday. We’d happily recommend it if you’re choosing a lodge for your visit.

We stayed for more than a week and still wished we had longer. The Hide Away is worth recommending too. The kennel dogs are very well cared for, and everyone we met, from guides to waiters, was friendly and passionate about their work. All our meals were included, and we were pleasantly surprised by both the quality and variety of the food. We loved this place.

It felt like a winter wonderland, and we loved our stay. The staff were amazing and always ready to help. Our room was warm, the lounge cosy, and the borrowed clothes comfortable and warm too. It’s expensive, with extra charges for everything, so check prices instead of assuming something is included. We brought snacks and coffee for the room, which had a kettle and fridge.
