The place itself was nice, but we drove away still hungry. The bathroom and toilet are shared with other guests. Breakfast was the worst I’ve ever seen: it was put on a tray in the fridge the night before, and you had to take it from there.

The rooms and toilets were clean, and the place was cozy and well located. I was happy with our stay overall, but it felt overpriced for what you get. This is a hostel, so don’t expect hotel standards. The toilets are shared, and the WiFi was poor and didn’t work in our room. Breakfast was included and okay, though simple: it was prepared the day before, labeled with our room number, and left on a tray in the shared fridge. There was only instant coffee. Bad WiFi and coffee aren’t acceptable.

We arrived at the campsite at 19:10, but nobody was at reception. A note said not to use the pitches because they might be reserved. Instead, you’re meant to text your details and wait for a reply with campsite instructions and payment information. No reply ever came, so after an hour we left. We considered using the toilets and paying the next day, but couldn’t get in because the doors needed a code we were supposed to receive by text. If you haven’t booked in advance, DON’T GO THERE. It’s a waste of time. Reply to Frederika: this wasn’t two days ago, it was six days ago. My girlfriend sent the text, and yes, we’re sure it went to the right number.

The water view is nice, and Bohus castle is well worth seeing, just a three-minute walk away. It’s fine for a night or two, though €26 per tent per night feels a little expensive.

We don’t need much luxury, just a cozy place with a clean shower, hot water, and electricity, and we had all of that here. The kitchen could use a bit more heating. The campsite is right on the main street and looks out over the riverside. Groceries are close by, and you can walk to a bus to Göteburg that runs every 10 minutes and costs 30SEK one way. Card payments only. Visit the islands nearby too. We’ll stay here on our next visit to Göteburg.
