First Camp Ekudden Mariestad

We booked two nights at this expensive campsite to rest, do laundry, and swim, travelling with our two little kids. When we asked about the laundry room, it was full for the day, so we reserved four hours for the next day. But when we went to get the keys, we were told it had been overbooked and we couldn't wash our clothes. I asked why the other person was given priority. They said nothing could be changed and told me I could ask that person myself if I could use one of the two washing machines. They didn't offer to handle it or even try to fix their mistake. I'm really disappointed with that service. I'd give zero stars if I could, and I'm never coming back.

There's a lovely view of the lake, and the staff are so friendly. It's close to the centre and has loads of activities for families with children. The downside is how tightly packed the tents and autohomes are, almost on top of each other. If a fire happened, the consequences could be serious. You also have to pay 5kr for a shower. Apart from that, a fantastic place.

The beach, camping, and friendly staff make this a wonderful place. Supervision is good, though more lifeguards at the beaches would be an improvement. The store is much more limited than it used to be, but you can order food from Mariestad town. They've made an effort to provide things for different ages, including a jumping bubble for kids and mini golf for anyone interested.

We arrived late during our bikepacking trip in Sept 2024, but the call center helped us get shower tickets and let us pay afterward. It was a nice stay.
