Skålleruds Gård

The breakfast was simple but fresh, and plenty for a B&B: bread, cheese, sausage, a boiled egg, muesli, coffee, juice, fruit and yoghurt. Anything that ran out was brought out fresh. The owners were warm and down-to-earth, and spoke German, Swedish and English. I was only passing through for one night, which was a shame, because this place is a lovely little find. My room and bathroom were clean and tidy, without the usual signs of wear. I slept really well. Even with the window open, it was almost completely quiet. The setting is peaceful, and the owners were very kind. The house is about 120 years old. It was a poorhouse for many years, later a conference centre, and has been a private B&B since 2006. It's furnished with care, including details about the house's history. There are books in the shared areas, plus board games, table football and table tennis. Outside, there's a volleyball and badminton area. There's free parking, and a beautiful wooden Baroque church right next door. A homemade dinner is available too, but you have to book it in advance. Thank you for having me. See you again soon! Greetings from Germany.
