The friendly, hospitable staff and really comfortable beds were what kept the stay from being ruined. You also get free admission to the motor museum, which is well worth a visit. The maritime decor is lovely and interesting, but our room felt bare and cold, and a couple of pictures would have helped. There were cobwebs on the ceiling above the bed. We couldn’t hang the shower head up, though staff fixed that after we mentioned it. Breakfast was very basic and kept running out, so we waited several times for refills and sometimes gave up. The bacon was inedible. Dinner tasted nice, but the plates were ice cold and the food cooled quickly. We could hear everything from our room, especially doors shutting in other rooms at 6 in the morning, which got annoying.

The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was good. During dinner, there’s a buffet for guests until the summer season. The price is fair, and the clean rooms have a cabin-like style that gives you the feeling of being on a boat.

The staff were kind and helpful with information, making this a good option for a short trip. Breakfast was a big letdown, though. With an hour still to go, the buffet had run out of almost everything.

The location is fairly central. The rooms have a cabin-like feel that’s interesting for a day or two, but it starts to wear thin after that. I’ve only visited out of season, when it’s very quiet.
