The sea views at Arholma Nord are unlike anywhere else I’ve been in the archipelago, especially at sunrise when the colors are incredible. I come back every summer. Arholma is the archipelago’s northernmost island, with a large nature reserve and lots of trails to explore. The food is great, and the staff are lovely and keep the place feeling welcoming. I’ve met plenty of people who return year after year, which says a lot. The bunker is also well worth seeing. Friends of mine who are into military history were impressed by how complete it is, and how easy it is to picture life as a soldier inside.
