Orrefors Hotell & Restaurang

A nice little hotel and restaurant. Whenever we’re at our house in Sweden, we eat here.

We only stopped for dinner and didn’t stay overnight, but we’d happily recommend both the hotel and restaurant. The place was clean and well kept, with a great terrace. We chose the Thai buffet and enjoyed the tasty food and variety of dishes. The service was excellent, especially from the man looking after the bar. They were nearly closing, but let us finish dinner, have coffee with free cookies, and charge our phones. We’ll come back next time we’re in the area.

The man responsible for the hotel spoke only Thai, and trying to sort anything out was a disaster. He told us the hotel was fully booked when we asked for another room, but that wasn’t true. They also charged dinner twice, once when I paid and again to my friend at checkout. Luckily my friend noticed in the car, so we went back. Never again.

We arrived at short notice, just 20 minutes ahead, during the off season, and the staff still made it work. They were very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and breakfast was good. We didn’t try dinner, though some friends did and liked it a lot. I’d love to stay again.
