Stilleben

There are lovely hiking routes nearby, and if the weather cooperates, eating outside with that fantastic view makes the stay even better. We warmly recommend Stilleben. It’s a beautiful place, and the family who run it made us feel very welcome. Don’t miss dinner while you’re there. The dishes use locally sourced ingredients, and everything we tried tasted great.

We loved the slow travel idea and are already thinking about returning to Sweden. Our room was large and the beds comfortable. We spent four days at Stilleben, arriving at the start of the season, and enjoyed talking with the lovely couple about their plans and approach. Sustainability is clearly what they’re aiming for. Marieke’s optional three-course dinner was fabulous, with food we really enjoyed and ingredients sourced locally.

The breakfast really stood out: lovingly prepared with local ingredients, some made in house, and just right before another day of cycling. We had a fantastic stay in this beautifully renovated old school. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, and made everything feel relaxing and pleasant. The building and rooms are lovely, and the surroundings are wonderfully calm. I can’t recommend this hotel enough if you’re nearby or simply want a getaway.

Marieke and Robin were so friendly and hospitable, and the food was delicious, made with fresh local ingredients. We had a very pleasant stay at Stilleben. Our room was spacious and had a lovely view. I’d definitely recommend visiting and enjoying the charming Swedish nature there.
