City Central Hotel Örebro, by First Hotels

The room was clean, modern, and seemed recently renovated, with a comfortable bed and even wireless phone charging by the bedside. For an affordable stay right in central Örebro, with a supermarket three minutes away, it worked well. Staff were friendly, and breakfast had a decent spread of eggs, bread, cereal, coffee, sweets, juice, sausage, and cheese. They also asked whether I needed vegan food. The bathroom ended up half flooded after a shower, so a rubber or silicone strip might help. The corridors looked worn, and the hotel, especially the breakfast room, is quite dark. Those were small issues for me. Thanks for the stay, I'd come back if I needed somewhere nearby.

There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and the hotel is about 100 metres north of the castle. The buffet breakfast was fine. Rooms are adequate for a cheap hotel, though there's no air conditioning, just a fan. The lifts stop running at 10:30 pm, which isn't ideal.

The rooms seem well looked after, even though the building itself feels dated. Check-in is through the restaurant downstairs, which closes at 10 pm, so it's probably best to contact them ahead of time if you'll arrive later. Breakfast was okay, with the usual items.

A hotel room with a full kitchen is a rare find. Nicely done.
