The restaurant was the one bright spot. It seemed much better cared for than the rest of the hotel, and both the food and breakfast were great. Still, for 3.200 for two nights on our vacation, I expected a lot more from the room. We weren't paying on a company bill, and I really didn't expect to be deliberately given a sub-par room. Room 151 was freezing, the elevator beside it was noisy, and after a 10 minute hot shower, the only warm spot in the room, the pipes started banging and wouldn't stop. We reported it and got room 159. That made it clear the heating problem was in the room, not throughout the hotel. I'm not high maintenance and usually let things slide, but the cold and elevator noise bothered me, especially since the hotel wasn't even close to full. Don't tell me otherwise. This isn't a new hotel, so ongoing room problems aren't surprising. The front desk staff must know that rooms next to the elevator are very noisy. We could still hear it from our second room, with four other rooms between us and the elevator, so imagine being right beside it. If you know about this, why assign that room when other rooms are free? Why not keep it, and possibly rooms 251 and 351 too, for when the hotel is absolutely full?

The staff were very kind and helpful, and the hotel's close to the centre. The rooms and floors need maintenance and reconditioning, though. My room was very cold even though it wasn't cold outside yet. The staff were the only thing I can praise, and I'm grateful for their help.

Room 312 was freezing, and the bathroom floor was too cold to walk on. I'm upset. The door handle was a little loose, and the desk drawers were worn out and missing their handles.

The room was huge for a really fair price, and Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Check-in was quick and hassle-free. It's a cozy, friendly place, with restaurants and the sea promenade nearby. I haven't tried the restaurant yet, but this hotel is on my list and I'll likely return when I'm in the area.

After hiking the High Coast Trail, which ends in the park opposite, my wife and I stayed one night and had a very pleasant time. Our room was very clean, and the adjustable bed was really comfortable. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast buffet was exceptional. Some of the decor is a little tired, as others have said, but it wasn't bad. I've certainly paid more for worse.
